Nathaniel ‘Than’ Hitt

Dr. Nathaniel “Than” Hitt is the senior scientist at West Virginia Rivers Coalition, where he focuses on conservation, water security, and public health. He is a 10th-generation West Virginian and grew up hiking and fishing the Appalachian highlands. He has led several community projects in the Potomac Valley region, including community-supported solar power at Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church, tree plantings in downtown Shepherdstown, and participation with the PVAS Grassland Bird Initiative at Steamboat Run where he resides.
