Thank you for your interest in The Monarch Alliance (TMA) and the Potomac Valley Audubon Society’s Plant Sale!
Commonly Asked Questions
When is pick-up? Can I arrange another day for pick-up?
Pick-up for the online orders is only on May 17 at Sunny Meadows Garden Center between 10:00 am- 2:00 pm. If you haven’t picked up your order by day’s end, you’ll need to make special arrangements with Sunny Meadows to pick up within the week. If your order is not picked up within the week, all ordered plants will be donated to one of TMA’s projects.
What time is the plant talk?
Native plant experts Ann Aldrich and Bob Schwartz will go over the species available in the plant sale and how to design a native garden at 9:00 am on May 17 at Sunny Meadows Garden Center.
Can someone help me choose which plants are right for my garden?
Yes! Native plant experts will be there during the in-person sale to help you pick out the best plants for you and your situation!
Is there any way to choose a male tree or plant?
We don’t know the sex of any of the plants. They are straight native and not cultivars, so we cannot control for things like gumballs on the Sweetgum trees.
Why are there Milkweed plants available?
We are doing our best to get more Common and Whorled milkweed for the in-person sale. If they become available before the in person sale on May 17, we will update the website.
