Grassland Birds Initiative– Grassland nesting birds are in trouble. Habitat loss, land use practice changes, pesticides, and other causes have negatively impacted grassland bird population. If you have at least 10 acres of open grassland, field, or meadows on your property, you can receive an assessment of your property and management recommendations. Once entered into the program, you will recieve a sign to display on your property!
Protected Pollinator Patch– Pollinators play an important role in the ecosystem. From flowering plants to food, our world would look a lot different without pollinators. Native pollinators are threatened by habitat loss, disease, and overuse of pesticides. But there are ways that you can help! Check out this program and see what impact you can make. You can enroll your property in this program and get a sign to display on your property.
Wildlife Habitat– Anyone can be a land steward! regardless of the size of your property, you can help support wildlife. This program includes an official wildlife habitat certification, a wildlife habitat sign to display on your property, and a site visit from a certified West Virginia Master Naturalist to to evaluate your property and make recommendations.
