We invite your family to join us for an interactive nature photography workshop led by photographer Meg Faehl. During this workshop, you’ll learn how to use a DSLR camera to capture the beauty of nature! This workshop will be held at Cool Spring Preserve. You won’t want to miss this exciting opportunity to learn a new skill! This workshop is different than the previous Youth Photography Workshops, so we encourage both new folks and past participants to attend!
Youth ages 10-16 must be registered to participate in this workshop. Accompanying adults (up to two per child) may attend for free. This is not a drop-off program, so an adult must be present at all times. You may bring your own camera or rent a DLSR camera for an additional $5 fee. To store and keep photos to take home, SD cards are available to purchase with registration for $5. You are also welcome to bring your own SD card, but it must be formatted and cleared of all photos.
- Walking Distance: Less than 1 mile
- Pace: Leisurely (meandering, many breaks to stop and observe)
- Exposure: Partial shade. Some areas of full sun.
- Terrain: Hard ground/hiking trail in some areas, mowed grass in other areas. Gentle slopes/rolling hills
- Restroom: Indoor, flushing restrooms will be available.
- Parking/Where to Meet: After parking in the gravel lot, go down the stairs next to the Case Nature Center. Check in at the back deck near the bottom of the stairs.
- What to Bring: Be sure to bring a camera (ideally a DSLR camera) and an SD card if you did not rent/purchase them. Dress for the weather and bring water. We also recommend bug spray.
