United Way Day of Caring
Tuesday, September 11, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Join a spectacular group of volunteers in sprucing up three of PVAS’s nature preserves!
At Cool Spring, we will be painting the interior of our nature center, installing trail signs, mulching the nature playspace and planting the rain gardens.
At Yankauer, we will be installing a drain pipe to prevent pavilion flooding, mulching the outdoor classroom and repairing benches.
At Stauffer’s Marsh, we will be planting evergreen trees, doing meadow maintenance and improving trails.
This year, PVAS is also helping out Flowing Spring Park with their Day of Caring. They will be performing invasive species removal requiring chainsaw operators and herbicide applicators.
If you have energy and interest we have a task for you!
Lunch and a t-shirt are provided for volunteers. Please bring a refillable water bottle as we have extra water for refills during the day. Gloves and tools are available, but you are welcome to bring your own. (Just please make sure they are marked with your name.)
All volunteers are required to sign a United Way waiver which will be sent to you by email.
PLEASE REGISTER BELOW SO WE KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE TO EXPECT AT EACH PRESERVE!
