Tree Seedling Potting Volunteer Workday at Cool Spring Preserve
Monday, July 22 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Join Ellen for an evening potting native tree seedlings that will later be planted at PVAS preserves!
PVAS Host: Ellen Kinzer
Free and open to the public. For ages 12 and older. All youth must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required and limited to 15 participants.
PVMN Volunteer Credit Eligible.
Recently, native tree seedlings (hundreds of them!) were donated to PVAS and we need your help potting them up! These seedlings will live in pots this summer while we take care of them. In the fall, they will go into the ground at our preserves – keep an eye on the calendar for a future workday to put trees into the ground!
- Walking Distance: Little to no walking.
- Activities: A variety of tasks are available. We will need some poeple to lift and move heavy objects like pots of soil. There are also jobs that can be completed while sitting the entire time.
- Exposure: Full exposure/no shade but we will have a shade tent available.
- Terrain: We will primarily be in the gravel parking lot.
- Restroom: Indoor, flushing restrooms will be available.
- Parking/Where to Meet: Cool Spring Preserve has about 20 parking spaces. The group will assemble at the parking lot.
- What to Bring: Dress for the weather and bring water! Bring gardening gloves if you have them. Small stools or kneeling pads or similar items are also recommended to help you be comfortable.
