Wildflower Walk Leader: Rodney Dever
PVMN Continuing Education Re-Cert Eligible
This two-hour walk is free and open to the public; however, registration is strongly encouraged.
Join Rodney Dever, President of the Eastern Panhandle Chapter of the WV Native Plant Society, for a spring ephemeral wildflower walk!
Meet Saturday, April 18th at 10:00 a.m. along the C&O Canal, near the Route 34 (Rumsey) Bridge across from Shepherdstown, on the Maryland side of the Potomac River. Click here for the exact meeting location via Google Maps.
The hiking terrain is moderately strenuous, but the pace will be slow. Children are welcome with adult accompaniment. Participants should wear sturdy shoes and appropriate clothing.
If the weather is especially inclement on the day of the trip, it will be rescheduled for Saturday, April 25th, 2020.
Parking may be available in the small parking lot next to the Route 34 Bridge. Otherwise, parking is also available in a large parking lot on Canal Road near the railroad trestle. In that case, just park and walk across the footbridge, then continue along the Canal towpath and back to the Route 34 Bridge.
