PVAS’s 40th Anniversary Shenandoah River Float!
Friday, August 12, 2022 @ 9:30 am - 1:30 pm
Join PVAS as we celebrate 40 years of conservation, education and action with a river float on the Shenandoah River!
The Shenandoah River is one of our area’s greatest assets and we are excited to partner with River & Trails Outfitters to offer a guided canoe or kayak float on this incredibly gorgeous river.
The group will float in canoes or kayaks from Avon Bend downriver to Moulton Park. This trip is reminiscent of a Shenandoah River float that some of PVAS’s founders fondly remember enjoying together just 40 years ago.
In addition to enjoying the beautiful tree lined stretch of river and refreshing waters, this is a perfect opportunity to see blue herons, osprey, eagles and more!
Participants will meet at the River & Trail Outfitters office at 99 Cary Lu Circle Suite 108, Harpers Ferry at 9:30am. Everyone is welcome to leave their cars at Cary Lu Circle as there will be a shuttle to Avon Bend and upon completion of the float, River & Trail Outfitters will then shuttle all participants back to their cars.
The float will last 2-3 hours depending on river levels at that time. This float is family friendly for families with children ages 7 and up.
At the conclusion of the experience, a special treat will be offered to all participants.
There will be an assortment of tandem kayaks or canoes available for people and families to choose from.
The deadline for registration is Thursday, August 4th. The fee is $50 and all but $10 per person of each individual’s registration fee is refundable up until July 22. After that, all fees are non-refundable.
