Wednesday, November 7, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Trip Leader: Bob Dean
PVMN Re-Cert Eligible
This event is free and open to the public, however, registration is required and limited to 12 people. Please register below.
Join Bob Dean at his Saw-Whet Owl Banding Station for his annual Banding Field Trips.
Sign up for this wonderful opportunity to see first hand how local birding expert, Bob Dean, catches, bands and releases Saw-Whet Owls.
The group will meet at the Shop n’ Save (formerly Food Lion) parking lot in Hedgesville on Wednesday, November 7 at 5:00 pm. The group will then travel about 10 minutes to the owl banding station. Bob will discuss the car pooling, making it clear that if there is a need for someone to leave before 9:00 pm, they should drive or carpool with others who need to return early. There will be the option to stay later if owls are being caught and there is activity enough to warrant staying.
Participants should bring folding chairs and warm clothing for comfort as there will be a wait between net checks.
Due to the length of the evening, folks may want to bring along dinner or a snack and something to drink.
This event will be canceled in the event of foul weather. The owls will not be flying in wet or windy conditions.
