PVAS’s Public Program in Morgan County: Wetlands

The Warm Springs and Sleepy Creek Watershed Associations along with the Potomac Valley Audubon Society welcome Elizabeth Byers, Senior Wetland Scientist at WV Department of Environmental Protection. Elizabeth will offer an in depth presentation on Wetlands.
Elizabeth will discuss how to recognize wetlands, which laws cover them, and their value to society. This presentation will conclude about 3:00 pm.
Following the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to join Elizabeth on a field trip to explore a local wetland. Elizabeth will offer a demonstration of how to recognize a wetland and explanation of some of the special features seen.
Ms. Byers is a Senior Wetland Scientist at the WV Department of Environmental Protection. Previously she was a Natural Heritage Ecologist with the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources and a Senior Program Officer at The Mountain Institute.
The Wetlands Presentation will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs.
You will enter the building from the side and the presentation will be in the lower level. We will have an Audubon sign pointing you in the correct direction as well as on the door.
