PVAS Monthly Program: Making the Night Sky Visible: Dark Sky Practices for Your Home & Neighborhood

This in-person program is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome to attend.
Special Note #1: Location Change
PVAS Monthly Programs will now be held at the Robert C. Byrd Center for Congressional History and Education at Shepherd Univesity.

Special Note #2: Coats4Kids Drive
Bring new and gently-used coats, hats, hoodies, scarves and gloves to this program to support the 5th annual Coats4Kids coat drive, coordinated with our AmeriCorps service members Madeline St. Thomas and Madeleine King and our partners at The Education Alliance. These items will be distributed across the state to kids in need. Learn more here.
Special Note #3: Special Teacher Guests
Before the main speaker, we will have a special presentation by two local teachers who received scholarships from PVAS to attend Sharing Nature: An Educators Week at Hog Island, Maine last summer. They will share about their experience and how it impacted their teaching this year!
SCHEDULE
- 6:30 PM: Social time with light refreshments. In order to reduce waste, we are asking that people bring their own mugs.
- 7:00 PM: Presentation begins!
- 8:00 PM: Approximate end of the program – though it may last longer depending on questions and discussion!
We will also be offering this program virtually! Here is the Zoom link so you can join in from home. If you are not able to attend live, in-person or virtually, you can view a recording of the Monthly Program presentation later! We typically post the recording within several days.

About the Presenter: Jesse is an avid outdoors enthusiast, Appalachian Trail thru-hiker, fisherman, amateur astronomer, and original member of Bolivar-Harpers Ferry DarkSky.
