The Potomac Valley Audubon Society welcomes Alison Zak as she presents, “Coexisting with Beavers: A Dam Worthy Challenge”.
Join PVAS for their (Virtual) February Monthly Program where Alison Zak will discuss a little beaver ecology and behavior, a lot about the benefits beavers provide for people/other species/the environment, and most applicably, how to coexist with beavers!
Alison Zak, M.A. served as an AmeriCorps volunteer at PVAS in 2016-2017 after which she taught at the National Zoo and led education programs at the Clifton Institute, where she became a beaver believer. Last year, Alison founded the Human-Beaver Coexistence Fund (HBCF) to educate the public about the benefits of coexisting with beavers and to provide resources and financial support to address human-beaver conflict using nonlethal management strategies. Alison is also an anthropologist, writer, and yoga teacher.
The Monthly Program will be held via Zoom.
