November Field Trip to Residential Native Meadow
Saturday, November 2, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Field Trip Leader: Rita Hennessy
PVMN Continuing Education Eligible
Registration is required and limited to 15 participants. Please register below.
Join Rita for an educational morning at her residential native meadow. Stroll around her meadow paths to learn how native meadows can provide winter cover for birds and insects as well as discussing the big question: to mow or not to mow? She will focus on the establishment of her meadow, the meadow cycle through the seasons and how it has evolved over the past six years.
Rita’s property includes a two acre open meadow, and a one acre orchard, surrounded by woodlands in Jefferson County, WV.
Please wear sturdy walking shoes, dress for the weather and bring along drinking water.
Rita’s meadow is located outside Shepherdstown on Terrapin Neck Road. The address and directions to the native meadow will be provided in the registration confirmation email.
