Join PVAS’s AmeriCorps Volunteer, Matt Wuertzer, for a family friendly evening at Cool Spring Preserve. Listen and learn about the all the various insects and creatures we hear in the summer and early fall months. The group will set out on a walk through the preserve, looking, listening and exploring the meadows, woodland and marsh.
In addition, Matt will have a Mothing Sheet set up at the preserve. After the walk, he will shift his attention to observing the moths that have gathered at the sheet.
The walking group will assemble at 8:00 pm at the lower deck of Cool Spring Preserve, the walk will start shortly after.
Those who wish to participate should bring a flashlight and be prepared (if you choose) to walk through high grass, weeds and marsh. Tucking pants legs into socks and spraying them with a DEET-based insect repellent is recommended.
In the event of rain, the walk will not take place. A rain date of Saturday, August 24 is set.
