May be rescheduled – Nature Writing Workshop: “Brains in Bloom” at Yankauer Nature Preserve
Sunday, May 3, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
This program has been cancelled in our efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19. It may be rescheduled for late summer. Please stay tuned for further information.
Join Griffin Bosserman, one of our Environmental Educator AmeriCorps, in this environmental writing workshop. Griffin’s passion for environmental writing was sparked during his time at college, where he focused on the “humanities side” of environmental studies. Since graduating with his B.A. in Environmental Studies from Wofford College, he has written numerous pieces inspired by nature.
Griffin will introduce the major themes in environmental writing, and then lead participants through a poem writing exercise to get their “creative craniums” churning.
The program will also consist of a guided walk, where you’ll find your own secluded spot to use as a place to reflect, sketch, and write. You’ll leave this workshop with the beginnings of a beautifully crafted, nature-inspired piece.
We ask that all participants be aged 10 years or older. Program fees are set at $10 for PVAS members, $15 for the general public. Registration is required, please register below.
Please dress for the weather, wear appropriate footwear for hiking, and bring a refillable water bottle. In the event of a cancellation due to weather conditions or low enrollment, registrants will be notified at least 24 hours in advance and all fees will be refunded.
