Natural History Workshop: Fall Mushroom Hallmarks

Join Walt Sturgeon at the National Conservation Training Center in room 151 Instructional West for his Natural History Workshop on Mushrooms.
The morning will start out in the classroom then transition to the trails of NCTC in search of mushrooms.
Walt Sturgeon is a nationally recognized field mycologist who has 40 years of experience with wild mushrooms, primarily in eastern North America. He has served as President of the Ohio Mushroom Society, and Vice President and Foray Chairman of the North American Mycological Association. An award-winning photographer with photos in numerous field guides, he is also the author of numerous books including, Mushrooms and Other Fungi of the West Virginia High Country, Mushrooms of the Northeast: A Simple Guide to Common Mushrooms and Mushrooms of the Northeast, which was recognized as best field guide of 2016. Walt has received the North American Mycological Associations Award for Contribution to Amateur Mycology and the Northeast Mycological Forays Friend of the Amateur award.
Upon entrance to the National Conservation Training Center, you will need to show your photo ID at the guard station before proceeding to the blue lot for parking. After parking, please meet in room 151 IW for the workshop. Bring along drinking water and sturdy walking shoes.
At the conclusion of the workshop, feel free to stay and enjoy a self-purchased lunch in the NCTC cafeteria.
