Join Dennis Utterback and David Carr for the third of a new bird walk series: Monthly Mystery Bird Walks. The location of the bird walk will change from month to month – the “mystery”!
April’s bird walk will be at Blandy Experimental Farm at the State Arboretum of Virginia! Commonly known as “Blandy”, this is an old estate property featuring hundreds of trees, shrubs, bushes, some dating back to the 1930’s. This site has multiple habitats including fields, meadows, forests and ponds. Always a great place to see a variety of birds, especially swallows, bluebirds, hawks, and warblers in spring and fall.
Meet at the flagpole at the front parking lot close to the “Arboretum Information” kiosk.
Learn more about the site here. This walk will take place at a slow pace as the group quietly observes the birds together.
