The Monarch Alliance is hosting a Monarch Tagging with Sandy Sagalkin and NPS Ranger, Chris Tawney, leading the event.
PVMN Continuing Education Eligible
The Monarch butterfly’s migration to Mexico began in early August, near Winnipeg, Manitoba. The migration peaks in our area the third week in September, so this is a perfect time for Monarch tagging!
This is a family-friendly event open to everyone, although children should be accompanied by an adult.
Participants should meet Sandy and Chris at the parking area near Burnside Bridge. Please wear comfortable walking shoes, bring along insect repellent and drinking water. Tags and nets will be provided.
This event is free of charge, however registration is required.
Please contact Krista Hawley at AdultPrograms@PotomacAudubon.org or call 681-252-1387 with any questions you may have.
