September is the month that most monarchs will migrate through our region on the way to Mexico where they will spend the winter. The Monarch Alliance, a program of the Potomac Valley Audubon Society, will be sponsoring activities during the month of September to celebrate this special event.
Join Dave Kaplan at the Hagerstown City Park Fall Fest from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on September 15. Dave will teach and help guide participants on the process of tagging monarchs.
The Monarch Discovery Day events will be free and open to anyone with an interest. Children are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.
In the event of cancellation, notice will be posted on the PVAS site by 9 p.m. the night before the event.
