The Monarch Alliance, a program of the Potomac Valley Audubon Society, announces its Fall Milkweed and Native Plant Sale and Fundraiser!
This will be held at Sunny Meadows Garden Center on Sharpsburg Pike on September 22, between the hours of 9 am – 2 pm.
The sale is a Fundraiser for the benefit of the Alliance’s Grant Program, a program to provide funds for more public Monarch Waystations in Washington and Frederick counties of Maryland and Jefferson, Berkeley and Morgan counties in West Virginia.
The monarch butterfly can find the smallest garden if it contains milkweed. The Alliance will offer three milkweed favorites – Butterfly Weed and Swamp Milkweed for gardens and Common Milkweed, for meadows.
The Monarch Alliance will also offer native plants and cultivars for sale from Archewild Nurseries, which specializes in “pure native” varieties and from North Creek Nurseries.
The Monarch Alliance will be on hand to provide planting tips for your Monarch Waystation and members of the Junior Monarch Alliance will be on hand to provide tips on raising monarchs and to sell Butterfly lollipops to support their program.
