This event is open to the public, however registration is required. Please register below.
National Moth Week is July 21-28 and Kathy Barylski, local moth expert, will be celebrating with an evening of ‘mothing’ at Cool Spring Preserve. Observe and learn about all the various moth species that will be attracted to our mothing sheets.
There is much to learn about moths, and Kathy is eager to share her knowledge and passion. Moths are among the most diverse and successful organisms on earth and scientists estimate there are 150,000 to more than 500,000 moth species.
National Moth Week celebrates the beauty, life cycles, and habitats of moths and is held worldwide during the last full week of July. For more information about National Moth Week, visit http://nationalmothweek.org/
Anyone with an interest is welcome to participate and children may attend but must be accompanied by an adult.
The group will assemble at 8:00 pm at the lower back deck of Cool Spring Preserve.
This event will not take place if it is raining heavily. A rain date of Thursday, August 8 is set.
Registration fees are $8 for PVAS Members, $10 for general public and children 10 years and younger are free.
All fees are nonrefundable.
