Join us as we dissect owl pellets to learn about their diets and digestive systems.
Allen Miller is excited to share his knowledge and passion of ‘all things owls’ at Cool Spring Preserve.
This program will be packed with interesting facts and fun! Participants will learn about owls and their diets from a hands-on opportunity to dissect owl pellets. The owl pellets we will be dissecting are from West Virginia owls.
We are requesting a donation of $5 per person in order to help cover the costs of supplies and materials. Donations may be made below while registering.
Allen Miller was a teacher for 35 years where he spent a large chunk of that time teaching science. Allen is a Morgan County WV resident and currently, a seasonal naturalist at Cacapon Resort State Park. He is a Master Naturalist member in the 2021 cohort. Allen will be guiding the activity and then we all can learn together.
When you arrive at the preserve, please head into the Nature Center where the group will gather for the start of the program.
