Crafting and foraging programs are some of our most popular offerings—like December’s wreath-making workshop, which participants loved. While we have tons of ideas (and maybe you do too!), we need more volunteer support to turn these ideas into reality!
What is “EcoCraft”?
Our working definition is that EcoCrafts are:
- Nature-inspired
- Low environmental impact
For example, wreaths made out of invasive species are an EcoCraft! Making something from new plastic materials wouldn’t be considered an EcoCraft, but using reused or upcycled materials would.
To bring together this creative energy, we’re excited to launch monthly EcoCraft & Foraging Programs Working Group meetings! These collaborative sessions on the second Wednesday of each month will allow us to share ideas, support one another, and plan programs that connect people with nature.
Depending on the group’s interest, future in-person meetings could include exciting skill-sharing opportunities to prepare for upcoming programs!
We can’t wait to collaborate with you and make these creative, nature-inspired programs a reality.
About Sonja: Sonja is the Associate Director of Education with the Potomac Valley Audubon Society. She is excited to connect with others who are also interested in nature crafts and foraging!
