Earth Day 2023 at Sam Michael’s Park

This event is free and open to the public.
Elks Run WaterFaire presents Earth Day 2023 on Saturday, April 22nd at Sam Michaels Park from 10am-2pm. A variety of activities will be scheduled throughout the day, including bird and nature walks, a rain barrel workshop, and even a rain garden planting! This will be a family friendly event with activities from for kids and adults to explore the wonder of nature here in own our backyard.
PVAS will be there hosting a bird walk from 8am-10am, and then during the event we will have kids game (with prizes!), scavenger hunts, a guided nature walk at 12:00, and a special tree planting at 1:30pm in memory of Clark Dixon, one of the founding members of Potomac Valley Master Naturalist (PVMN).
If you are interested in participating in the rain barrel workshop, please contact Jody Sims at jsims@epcd.us. The first twenty registrants will receive a free rain barrel. On Friday, April 21 at 7 pm, the Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Commission will show the movie The Lorax at the AMP pavilion. More info at Facebook: JeffCounty.ParksNRec.
