Duration: 3 hours
Experience Needed: None! People of all skill levels are welcome and together we will begin developing or improving upon our skills.

Description: This activity is a hands-on introduction to Drawing and Sketching Nature. This is not an activity in learning Nature Journaling, but the Drawing and Sketching skills developed can be used for a Nature Journal. While there are several definitions, Drawing is typically more detailed and possibly larger than Sketching. The plan is to use both approaches.
Do you want to draw and sketch? Drawing and sketching is a learned skill, so as long as you have the desire and the interest, you just have to start! No question that some people will develop skills faster than others, but everyone can do it and have fun. You will make mistakes, we all do, which is how you learn and grow your skills.
This second meeting (you do not have to have attended any previous sessions!) will introduce the use of pen and ink. This session will start with introductions, a discussion of the various types of inks and how to use them. It will include methods to create the perception of volume in a drawing. Then for the rest of the session, participants will be pick a nature object or two and sketch it, outside if the weather is permitting. Then, at the end, there will be a discussion on what participants learned and thought about the process.
