Join Will for Drawing, Sketching and Painting Nature!
PVAS Hosts: Will Janssen
This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required and limited to 15 participants.
Duration: 3 hours
Experience Needed: None! People of all skill levels are welcome and together we will begin developing or improving upon our skills.
Accessibility: This session will take place at the Case Nature Center at Cool Spring Preserve, which is wheelchair accessible. Seating is available for most if not all of this session.
This is an introductory session for a Drawing, Sketching, and Painting Nature Group. The goal of this group is to develop a community of people learning, improving, and sharing their art skills. We will use drawing, sketching, and painting to experiment, share, grow, and improve our observations of nature!
Can you draw, sketch, or paint? YES! These skills are learnable for anyone with the desire and interest. No question that some people will develop skills faster than others, but everyone can do it and have fun. You will make mistakes, we all do, as we learn and grow.
The focus of this group is different than for nature journaling, as this focuses on drawing, sketching, and painting skills and improving observational abilities.
This introductory session will introduce the use of graphite pencils (including a hands-on drawing activity!) and explore people’s interests to determine future options. We will have a display of various papers, media, books, and other resources used for drawing, sketching, and painting.
