Tour of Blandy Experimental Farm at the State Arboretum of Virginia

Join Potomac Valley Master Naturalists on a tour of Blandy Experimental Farm!

$10/person. A portion of the proceeds will go to Blandy. All ages are welcome, though youth must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required and limited to 40 participants. This program has a minimum of 6 participants.

Join us for a guided tour of Blandy Experimental Farm at the State Arboretum of Virginia, where research and education come together to deepen our understanding of the natural world. As we explore the Native Plant Trail, pollinator garden, and bee wall, we’ll discover how plants, pollinators, and ecosystems interact—and how human activity influences these vital systems. Learn about ongoing research in plant biology, ecology, and environmental science, and gain insights into the role we all play in shaping the environment. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast or simply curious, this tour offers a unique opportunity to connect with the living landscape and the science behind it.
- Walking Distance: 2-3 miles
- Pace/Activities: Leisurely (meandering, many breaks to stop and observe)
- Exposure: Mostly open, some canopy cover
- Terrain: A mix of hard ground and mowed grass Mostly flat, some gentle slopes
- Restroom: Restrooms are available for this program.
- Parking/Where to Meet: Meet at Blandy near the flagpole and information kiosk close to the front parking lot. View the map here.
- What to Bring: Bring water and dress for the weather!
Registration will remain open until April 3.
If the minimum # of participants is not reached by that time, the program will be canceled.
