Master Naturalists are invited to join Roy Boyle, MN Candidate from the 2021 cohort, for a bird walk on the C&O Canal across the Potomac River from Shepherdstown.
The C&O Canal’s well maintained path offers nice, easy birding along the tree lined canal and alongside the Potomac River.
Please meet by 7:00 am in the large parking lot along Canal Road. The group will then walk down the canal path at a slow pace looking for birds and other wildlife.
All Master Naturalist with an interest are welcome to come along, regardless of their birding skills.
We encourage all participants to bring along their field journals or birding apps and binoculars if they have them. This will be led by Roy, however he is encouraging others to join in and help share their knowledge on this walk.
If you have questions or would like more information, contact Krista Hawley at adultprograms@potomacaudubon.orgor 681-252-1387.
Participants should wear sturdy footwear, dress appropriately for the prevailing weather conditions, and bring along water. Binoculars will be available for anyone who needs them.
The trip may be cancelled in the event of bad weather.
