Bird Walk at the Walsh Property (near Charles Town)
Saturday, May 17 @ 7:30 am - 10:30 am

Join Karli Rogers and Heather Walsh for a morning bird walk at Heather’s property!
PVAS Host: Heather Walsh, Karli Rogers
Free and open to the public. This program is for adults. Registration is required and limited to 15 participants. This program has a minimum of 2 participants.
On this morning bird walk, we hope to see a variety of warblers during their spring migration! Anyone with an interest is welcome to come along, regardless of their birding skills.
- Walking Distance: ~ 1 mile
- Pace/Activities: Leisurely (meandering, many breaks to stop and observe)
- Exposure: Partially shaded.
- Terrain: Most grass and some gravel. Some rolling hills.
- Restroom: No restrooms are available.
- Parking/Where to Meet: Before the program, you will receive a confirmation email with the address of the program. It is in the vicinity of Charles Town.
- What to Bring: Wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather, and bring water. We also recommend you wear waterproof shoes and pants, as the group will be walking through the grass. If you have them, binoculars and cameras are recommended. You may also want to consider installing free birding apps creating by the Cornell Lab or Ornithology to your mobile device: 1) Merlin (which helps you identify birds!) and 2) eBird (which you can use to submit your sightings!)
Registration will remain open until the start of the program.
If the required minimum # of people do not register by 4 pm the evening prior, the program will be cancelled.
About Heather: Heather Walsh has worked at the EESC for 17 years as a fish biologist. Her research focus is to better understand how environmental changes affect the health of wild fish and what that could mean from a human perspective. She is also a member of PVAS and enjoys birding as a pastime.
