On a sunny day, the first Saturday of 2023, the Potomac Valley Master Naturalist Coordinating Committee had the pleasure of gathering in person for our monthly meeting at Yoga and Aerial Studio 214 in Martinsburg. The studio itself is housed at a historical site built in the 1900’s. Upon entering the building there were ten dark brown hammocks that flowed from the tall ceiling, welcoming whomever passed through the doors. Prior to coming together to discuss our affairs, we were led by owner, Tracey Bowman, in a session of restorative aerial yoga. We positioned our bodies inside the aerial hammocks to practice breathing, as well as yoga poses and stretches. This was a wonderful opportunity to “ground” ourselves, before gathering for snacks and small talk, so that we could get down to business. The coordinating committee has been meeting over Zoom the last year, so this was a welcoming change to restore the fellowship of this group.
