Wee Naturalists

April 11: Chickens Aren't The Only Ones (and Spring Egg Hunt)

May 16: Flowers Are Calling

June, July, and August:  Held at Gateway Children's Garden in Martinsburg.  Details will be posted soon.

This fun program is aimed at pre-school children ages 3-5. It is designed to provide opportunities for small children and loving adults to explore nature together safely under the guidance of an experienced PVAS instructor. Children must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent or other adult relative or guardian.

Program sessions are offered in the spring and fall. Each session will last from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Each month's sessions will explore a different nature theme.

Programs are conducted rain or shine and include activities in an open-air pavilion and nature walks on the trails. Everyone should wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.

Spring Egg Hunt

We also have a Spring Egg Hunt for preschoolers as part of the Wee Naturalists program each year.  Unlike traditional egg hunts, this one features eggs painted to resemble wild bird eggs.  Other "egg" activities and games are available, too!  This year it is April 11th.

PVAS launched its Wee Naturalists program with support from the Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation's Two Rivers Giving Circle.
