The schooner Sultana is the ultimate classroom for learning about the history and environment of the Chesapeake Bay.  An almost exact replica of a British schooner that patrolled the North American coast just prior to the American Revolution, Sultana is capable of providing programs that focus on Chesapeake Bay ecology and colonial/maritime history.   The 3-hour experience on the Chesapeake Bay may include raising sails, steering the ship, exploring the crew quarters, sampling marine life with a commercial fishing net, catching plankton and examining the specimens under microscopes, and conducting tests to monitor water quality.

This workshop is designed for adults only and is not appropriate for children or as a family outing.

Travel to Chestertown will be your responsibility, but directions will be provided.   Carpooling is encouraged.  Bay Bridge toll is $12.00 per car with $5.00 additional (same day return with receipt).

Pre-registration is required.
Refunds are possible only if the class is cancelled.
