Camp Information For Parents

If You Must Cancel Your Registration

If you must cancel this registration, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer your spot to another family. For all cancelations, the $50 registration fee is non-refundable. In addition, for cancelations made less than two weeks before the start of a camp session, no amount of the payment will be refunded.

What is the Camp Day Like?

Camp sessions are held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Groups of 8-10 campers of similar age are led by experienced staff to ensure safety and individual attention.  Camp activities include hiking, games, crafts, and other activities that focus on the week's theme.

At Yankauer Nature Preserve, a central, open air pavilion provides shade and protection from storms.  There are also composting toilets and running water.  The preserve is about 104 acres of woods.

At Cool Spring Preserve, there is a building with flush toilets and running water, a barn that will be used for some activities, wooded and open areas, and a stream. The preserve is about 13 acres.

Camp T-Shirts

If your camper wishes a camp t-shirt, they are available to purchase online when you register for $10.  They are available on the first day of camp.  Shirt orders must be received by May 15 to guarantee they are available.  We generally use 100% cotton shirts that have minimal shrinkage.  They are available in both youth and adult sizes. Sizes are generally true to size.

Youth X-Small: 2-4     Youth Small: 6-8     Youth Medium:  10-12     Youth Large:  14-16

Adult Small (34-36)   Adult Medium (38-40)      Adult Large (42-44)       Adult XL (46-48)

What to Wear:

  •  Comfortable clothing that can get dirty
  •    Sunscreen
  •  Bug spray (Ticks are very common at both sites, so this is highly recommended.)
  •  Hats and sunglasses are recommended
  •   Hiking shoes or sneakers, or hiking sandals that are strapped to the foot (Chacos, Tevas, Keens etc.)

What to bring:

  • A refillable/reusable water bottle (We really discourage disposable bottles)
  • A morning snack
  • Lunch (To generate less waste and promote good stewardship, we highly encourage staff and campers to bring a reusable lunch box/bag and lunch containers)
  • Sunscreen and bug spray to reapply throughout the day
  • Rain jacket or poncho if rain is in the forecast
  • A day pack
*Please label everything with your child’s name
